Incorporating strobing, dance club beats in the chorus, Rihanna pleads for her lover to give her all the attention, singing: "Like I'm the only one that you'll ever love / Like I'm the only one who knows your heart / Only girl in the world."
The song best represents the title of her upcoming album, and provides a nice contrast to her previous effort, the downbeat, emotional 'Rated R.' 'Only Girl' is produced by the Norwegian production group Stargate -- who also collaborated on her dance singles, 'Don't Stop The Music, 'Hate That I Love You,' and more recently her No. 1 dancehall hit 'Rude Boy.'
"I made sure not to let you down with my [new] music!' Rihanna revealed during a fan chat. "You guys are always defending me, so now you've got some great songs to justify it. I didn't want to go backward and remake [2007's] 'Good Girl Gone Bad.' I wanted the next step in the evolution of Rihanna, and it's perfect for us."
'Loud' is expected in stores Nov. 2. To hear 'Only Girl (In the World),' head over to AOL Radio's Fresh 40 station.
