Mötley Crüe's power ballad 'Home Sweet Home.' The single was first featured on their 1985 album 'Theatre of Pain.'
As the song's opening piano chords play, a man and his tiny dog walk through the door into a large room featuring a race car driver tickling the ivories while his arms are on fire. By the way, the dog has disappeared, never to be seen again.
As the drums and guitar kick in behind the song's famous "I'm on the way / I'm on the way / Home sweet home" chorus, the man pictures himself on-stage with a band, then rides a large metal bull as stock market information flashes all around him.
Finally, he is returned to his couch, where he is joined by a much larger dog, his co-stars from previous scenes, and for no reason we can figure out, some cowboys.
The success of Mötley Crüe's 'Home Sweet Home,' for better or worse, spurred nearly every metal band in the world into releasing their own power ballads.
A previous pair of "purple door" commercials featured slightly more earth-bound adventures set to the music of Kanye West and Lionel Richie.
You can check out those two earlier commercials here, watch the new one below, and listen for 'Home Sweet Home' and other Motley Crue classics on AOL Radio's Hair Metal station.
