Kanye West is 'So Appalled' on his new song, the most recent contribution to the 'G.O.O.D Friday' series. West garners another star-studded cast for the dark, string-driven track, including G.O.O.D. Music signee Pusha T, producer Swizz Beatz, emcee beastie Jay-Z, Wu-Tang Clan's RZA, and CyHi Da Prynce.
Over portentous, synth-laden string melodies and mid-tempo percussion, the crew rap about how outrageous the rapping community has become, but that best, well, stay at the top. Jay-Z spews, "How am I even mentioned by all these f---ing beginners? / I'm so appalled I might buy the mall / just to show n---as how much more I have in store / I'm fresher than you all," with 'Ye adding, "We above the law, we don't give a f--- by y'all / I got dogs that chew a f---in' hole through the wall."
Pusha T adds his own personal advice on how to reach the top, "Success is what you make it / Take it how it comes / A half a mill in twenties is like a bill where I'm from / An arrogant drug dealer the legend I've become / CNN said I'd be dead by 21 / Black jack I just pulled in aces," and newcomer CyHi Da Pryce holds his own, rapping, "My movement is like the civil rights / I'm Ralph David / Abernathy, so call my lady Rosa Parks / I am nothing like them n---as baby those are marks."
Swizz bookends the song, and RZA delivers lower-registered vocals, adding to the hard-heavy chorus: "Cars for the missus and furs for the mistress / you know that s--- is f---ing ridiculous / f---ing ridiculous / you know the s--- is f---ing ridiculous."
'So Appalled' is expected to be on Kanye's album 'Dark Twisted Fantasy' in stores Nov. 16. To hear 'So Appalled' and his other new tracks, head over to AOL Radio's New Hip-Hop First station.
