The Band Perry tell it like it is in 'You Lie,' the third single from the Alabama trio's self-titled debut.
The song follows the release of 'If I Die Young,' which hit No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, and has been certified gold.
Kimberly Perry sings of a no-good cheater, who tells one falsehood after another. She's onto him though, and makes the bold decision to throw her wedding ring in the river and wash her hands of him.
"You lie like a priceless Persian rug on a rich man's floor / You lie like a coon dog basking in the sunshine on my porch / You like like a penny in the parking lot at the grocery store / It just comes way too natural to you / The way you lie."
Kimberly's vocals are supported by her two brothers, bassist Reid and drummer Neil. The Band Perry were signed to Republic Nashville in 2009, and released an EP prior to their debut full-length. It featured the group's first two singles, as well.
For a tale of realization, listen to 'You Lie' on AOL Radio's New Country First station.
