Christina Perri tells off an ex on her debut song 'Jar of Hearts.'
Perri's personal lyrics are front and center on the ballad, which features only her voice, piano and delicate strings.
She asks, "And who do you think you are, running around leaving scars / Collecting your jar of hearts and tearing love apart," before ultimately declaring, "You don't get to get me back."
The 24-year-old singer wrote on her blog that 'Jar of Hearts' is a true story about a guy who hurt her:
"I wrote the song after I went home to Philadelphia for the holiday last December. I sat in my childhood bedroom and hid from the boy (with the jar of hearts) who wanted to see me. My heart wanted to see him, my head knew better. I couldn't take one more break so I wrote the song instead."
Perri has performed "Jar of Hearts' on several television shows, most recently 'Conan' in December. The song can be found on Perri's EP 'The Ocean Way Sessions,' which she released in November.
