The song talks about the frustrations of being young, an evergreen theme with which anyone can identify.
Brad Arnold sings, "So far away from knowing where I am going / I am trying hard to find out who I am / They all see that I don't know what I am doing / I say they don't hardly understand."
The song, which is primed for placement on the CW or the next big teen flick, continues to explore the torment one feels while experiencing the trials and tribulations of life. "Why can't they remember / What I will never forget / How these dreams come undone / When you're young."
Arnold's familiar timbre guides the song, which features 3 Doors Down's classic rock ballad build-up. The band is prepping for the release of their fifth studio album, produced by Howard Benson, which is due out in early 2011.
The song will be available for purchase on iTunes in the coming weeks, but until then, you can listen to 'When You're Young' on AOL Radio's New Rock First station.
