The modern rock ballad showcases a more intimate side of the group, layered with lush guitars and heavy, muted percussion under lead singer Corey Taylor, who abandons his usual growl to expose a powerful, versatile voice.
The song is a simple elegy to a former love who refuses to fade from memory, with lyrics like: "Cause I see you / But I can't feel you anymore / So go away / I need you / But I can't need you anymore / You hesitate"
'Hesitate' is the second single from Stone Sour's 2010 release 'Audio Secrecy.' Their first single, 'Say You'll Haunt Me,' topped Billboard's Rock Songs and Mainstream Rock Tracks charts last summer.
With Slipknot on hiatus (though Taylor has said they will tour this year), Stone Sour has become increasingly active. The band announced on Thursday that they will headline the first annual Avalanche Tour, beginning on March 24, which features a collection of metal and hard rock acts including Theory of a Deadman and Art of Dying.
