After a two-month break, the cast of 'Glee' is back with 'Thriller/Heads Will Roll,' a mashup of Michael Jackson's 1984 hit and Yeah Yeah Yeahs' 2009 single. PopEater has the exclusive debut this morning.
The song will be featured on the upcoming episode, 'The Sue Sylvester Bowl Shuffle,' which will air after the Super Bowl on Feb. 6, with limited commericals.
In the episode, the glee club and football team are not seeing eye to eye, so Will and Coach Bieste create a plan to encourage team work. This involves a halftime performance at a William McKinley football game in which the ensemble dons ghoulish makeup and dramatic costumes, drawing inspiration from Jackson's epic 14-minute video.
Although the episode is just one week away, little is known about the performance aside from the inclusion of USC's marching band. Series creator Ryan Murphy has remained mum about the details. "I want people to be surprised with what we're doing," he told Rolling Stone. "All I'll say about that is that we're putting a new spin on it that I think people will really like."
Gleeks may have to wait until Super Bowl Sunday to see the visuals, but they can get instant gratification now by listening to 'Thriller/Heads Will Roll' on PopEater. Then tune to AOL Radio's Glee station to revisit songs from previous episodes.
