'Glee' Cast, 'Get It Right' Feat. Lea Michele -- New Song

The 'Glee' cast has released its latest single, 'Get It Right,' off the show's new soundtrack, 'Glee: The Music, Volume 5,' due out on March 8.

'Get it Right' is an original piece written by the show's music producer Adam Anders. It's one of two original songs featured on the forthcoming record, a first for the series that's known for their covers and mashups of famous pop songs past and present.

The single was written specifically for 'Glee' star Lea Michele, who plays the conflicted and egocentric Rachel, and more original tunes will likely be written for her as the show begins to brand her as an emerging songwriter.

'Get it Right' is a lonesome piano ballad backed by rich orchestration, best filed under "classic diva tune." Michele's clean voice bites under and glides above timeless lyrics of self-doubt over love recently lost:

"What can you do when your good isn't good enough? / When all that you touch tumbles down? / 'Cause my best intentions keep making a mess of things / I just wanna fix it somehow."

Michele's voice is among the cast's most versatile, striding confidently through growls and whispers, proclamations and wavering cries. This single, with the drive of its melody and narrative, is no exception.

The other original song on the forthcoming record, 'Loser Like Me,' is an upbeat summery jam that also features Michele, as well as fellow cast member Cory Monteith (Finn). Both original songs are scheduled to debut on the series on the March 15 episode.
