The track opens with mingling acoustic guitars as the country singer reminisces: "A full moon shining bright / Edge of the water, we were feelin' alright / Back down a country road / The girls are always hot and the beer is ice cold."
In the second verse, the Florida native sings about cruising down by the river. Then, the song unexpectedly explodes with a booming chorus, featuring stomping 'We Will Rock You'-like drums and hand claps.
In between "whoa-oh-oh" group chants, Owen sings, "Never gonna grow up, never gonna slow down / We were shinin' like lighters in the dark in the middle of a rock show / We were doin' it right / We were comin' alive / Yeah, caught up in a southern summer barefoot blue jean night."
'Barefoot Blue Jean Night' will likely appear on Owen's next record, tentatively scheduled for release later this year. His last album, 'Easy Does It,' peaked at No. 2 on the country album chart.
