Blue Chair Records

It's February, but it's not too late to nominate some candidates for breakout artists of the year. A few of them have released songs this month to great acclaim. Additionally, the Grammys are over, but we might have some early nominees for next year's show. Either way, February will be another fantastic month of new releases.

February proves to be another big month for country music. Kenny Chesney raised his 'Pirate Flag' earlier this month with his new single off his upcoming album. As the perfect road trip song, 'Pirate Flag' describes freedom and tells another story of the country star's famous life. Meanwhile, fans are eaglerly waiting for Lady Antebellum's new album which is expected to be released within the coming months. The band gave their fans an appetizer with 'Downtown' which signals a new direction for the band. The song includes a fast tempo and includes flirtatious lyrics from lead singer Hillary Scott. It's one of the most fresh sounding country songs to be released so far this year.

The internet is buzzing about MKTO and their new infectious youth anthem 'Thank You.' The upbeat pop track features the duo of Tony Oller and Malcom Kelley singing about underdogs. Expect more pop hits to be generated by these talented young artists, but for now 'Thank You' is sure to make its way around the airwaves. Speaking of infectious, British girl group Little Mix released 'Wings,' their first original song off their debut album. Little Mix was the first group to win 'The X Factor' and they're showing why with this sure to be hit. The song makes use of the girls' harmonies and is a tune you can definitely clap to.

Fresh off hosting Saturday Night Live, Justin Bieber released the fifth single from his successful album 'Believe.' 'All Around the World' features Ludacris and was produced by The Messengers production duo. The song is begging to be a club hit and is similar to David Guetta.

Fall Out Boy is back after a three year hiatus and dropped their new single 'My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up).' The song features a similar catchy, rock formula that has been seen in the past. Their new album will certainly be one of the more interesting releases of the new year.
