Adam Michael Goldstein, popularly known as DJ AM was one of the most popular American Disc Jockey who had one major drawback of being a drug addict. His consistently amazing performance landed him with a job at the Hollywood Club ‘The Dragonfly’ after a period of 2 years and was soon asked to join the rap/rock group ‘Crazy Town’ in 1999 where he was a part of a hit single named ‘Butterfly’ released by the group in 2000.
His success and fame have skyrocketed even after he left the group in the year 2001. The reason behind leaving the group was to avoid getting into drugs after quitting the intake with a lot of difficulties. He soon found himself as a guest DJ in the Ellen DeGeneres show and a cameo appearance in TV series ‘Entourage’. He also played at big private parties hosted by several celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Ben Stiller, and Leonardo DiCaprio. He frequently contributed several playlists for his own AOL Radio Station which comprised of pop-driven beats by Lady Gaga and MGMT along with the 70s and 80s classics by famous performers like Queen, Pat Benatar, Prince, and Madonna.
The playlists also included his own mixes derived from the songs of legendary artists like Elton John, Michael Jackson and Wu-Tang Clan amongst the others. The last playlist by the DJ that featured on his channel before his death included over 300 songs from a wide variety of artists including Adam Ant, Aretha Franklin, Beck, Beyonce, Bill Withers, Bob Marley, Calvin Harris, Coldplay, Daft Punk David Bowie, DJ AM, Eddy Grant, Flo Rida, Freeway, Girl Talk, Guns N Roses, James Brown, Justice, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Led Zeppelin, Madonna, Major Lazer, Michael Jackson, Sinatra, Prince, Rihanna, The Psychedelic Furs, Van Halen amongst the others. The playlist was loved by all because of an amazingly interesting mix by old and new artists together.
