Kelly Clarkson, 'Catch My Breath' -- New Song

RCA

Kelly Clarkson is catching her breath on what has been a decade-long successful music career. 'Catch My Breath' is the lead single from her first greatest hits collaboration 'Greatest Hits-Chapter One.' The song was co-written with her long-time musical director and friend Jason Halbert. Halbert had previously worked with her on other songs including 'Cry' and 'Standing in Front of You.'

The single works perfectly for Clarkson's 'Greatest Hits' album. It represents her career in music from winning 'American Idol' in 2002 to her career now as one of the most successful pop artists. The up-beat track is one of her catchiest and feel-good tracks ever and features Clarkson at her best. Her trademark, powerful vocals carry the celebratory song, which is destined to become a pop anthem and a favorite among her fans who the song is also inspired by. Clarkson further expressed the song's message on her website: "This song represents who I've been, what I've felt and where I'm headed as not only an artist but as a 30 year old that is now smart enough to know that it's time to stop, catch my breath, and be proud of not only what has been accomplished but of all the people that have helped me become the woman I am today."

The 'Greatest Hits' collection includes 3 new singles, in addition to 14 other hits from her career. The collection is called 'Chapter One' for a reason and fans shouldn't worry about her slowing down anytime soon. She's simply catching her breath.
