Bruno Mars, 'Locked Out Of Heaven' -- New Song

Elektra

With the release of his second studio album, 'Unorthodox Jukebox,' dropping on December 11th, Bruno Mars has released the first official single off the new album. 'Locked Out Of Heaven' is Mars's first solo single since last years hit song, 'It Will Rain' from the Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 Soundtrack.

With ten platinum singles (five as a featured artist), Bruno Mars has been in the fast lane of success since his start in 2009. The Honolulu, Hawaii native seems to draw influences from all across the board. 'Locked Out Of Heaven' fuses elements of reggae, pop, and a little bit of rock to create a very catchy and recognizable sound. The vocal style sounds very familiar to the likes of Sting, which is a very tough achievement to accomplish. The song was co-written by Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine, who, including Bruno Mars, make up the production team The Smeezingtons, and produced by Mark Ronson (Adele, Amy Winehouse, Lil Wayne, etc.). Lyrically, Bruno Mars shows off his talent in his verses. "Never had much faith in love or miracles/Never wanna put my heart on deny/But swimming in your world is something spiritual/I'm born again every time you spend the night." With his continuing success, 'Locked Out Of Heaven' sounds like another big hit for the pop star.

'Locked Out Of Heaven' is available now for digital download. 'Unorthodox Jukebox' is set to hit stores on December 11th. Fans can hear 'Locked Out Of Heaven' on AOL Radio's New Pop First.
