This is the first new music from the band since their long hiatus which began in November of 2009. In a public statement the band stated that "it's not a reunion, because we never broke up." They added: "We needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us." The band has definitely matured, but this song features the same catchy, rock formula that has worked so well in the past. The vocal melodies are strong here but Patrick Stump's soulful vocals stand out here. The rebellious tune features radio-friendly guitar hooks and a repetitive screech that is oddly catchy: "I'm on Fire!" It may feature less of a band sound than fans are used to, but it's a welcomed return for the band and a song that will be easy to sing along to. "In the end everything collides. My childhood spat back out the monster that you see."
Rap star 2 Chainz stars in the music video for 'Light Em Up.' The band is expected to go on a nationwide, major market tour to support the upcoming album. For now, fans can enjoy the new spark from the band right now on AOL Radio's Fresh 40.
