Lady Antebellum, 'Downtown' -- New Song

Capitol Nashville

Country group Lady Antebellum has released its first single from their upcoming fourth studio album. 'Downtown' was written by Luke Kaird, Shane McAnnaly, and Natalie Hemby and was originally being considered for release by Miranda Lambert.

Lady Antebellum, most widely known for their cross-over love song 'Need You Now,' has sped things up with this new single. The song includes a faster tempo and includes strong, flirtatious lyrics from lead singer Hillary Scott. Scott appears to be having a lot of fun in the track and brings sass that hasn't been seen in the band's previous hits. She sings with the help of her harmonizing band mates, "I don't know why you don't take me down town like you got anywhere better to be. Talk it up and give me the go round round like a good time tease." The pop-influenced, upbeat track also brings some funk, with a strong bass beat that helps carry the song along. The single may signal a bit of a change for the group, but it's sure to excite fans and receive a strong amount of radio play.

Lady Antebellum's untitled fourth album is expected to be released sometime early in 2013. For now, fans can wet their appetite with 'Downtown' on AOL Radio's New Country First.
