Lupe Fiasco, 'Battle Scars' -- New Song

Atlantic

Lupe Fiasco has released the latest single from his fourth album, 'Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1.' 'Battle Scars' is the fourth single from the album, and has already received platinum status sales in Australia (five times) and New Zealand. 'Battle Scars' was originally on the seventh studio album from Guy Sebastian ('Armageddon').

Produced by Pro-Jay and Guy Sebastian, 'Battle Scars' is a song about the "scars" left behind from broken and/or painful relationships. Even in failed relationships, there's always something that leaves a mark that will stay forever. "These battle scars, don't look like they're fading/Don't look like they're ever going away/They ain't never gonna change/These battle." Originally recorded for Guy Sebastian, the song has more of a pop feel than fans would expect from Lupe Fiasco. That being the case, there's still the flow and attitude that Lupe is known for. "Never let a wound ruin me/But I feel like ruin's wooing me/Arrow holes that never close from cupid on a shooting spree/Feeling stupid cause I know it ain't no you and me." With buzz already floating around the song from it's release overseas, it's safe to say that the powerful collaboration of Lupe Fiasco and Guy Sebastian will be received just as positively in the United States.

'Battle Scars' is available for digital download on Lupe Fiasco's latest album, 'Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1.' Fans can hear 'Battle Scars' on AOL Radio's New Pop First station.
