Maroon 5, 'Daylight' -- New Song

A&M

Maroon 5 has released their third single from their 2012 album 'Overexposed.' 'Daylight' was co-written by lead singer Adam Levine and Swedish producer Max Martin. It's the band's follow-up to 'One More Night.'

The soft rock ballad is softer than their previous singles on the album, relying on a drum track and strongly relying on Levine's voice. The song is similar to Coldplay ballads, with a pop hook and an arena-rock like series of 'whoa-oh's.' The bittersweet rock song is about a lover having to leave in the morning. Levine sings, "When the sun comes up, I will leave/this is my last glance that will soon be memory."

Following the success of 'Overexposed,' Maroon 5 has already announced that they are beginning to work on their fifth studio album. Keyboardist Jesse Carmichael is expected to return to the band, after taking a hiatus for personal reasons. You can hear 'Daylight' right now on AOL Radio's New Pop First.
