The Irish alternative rock stars are no strangers to break-up songs as they shot to fame following the success of the emotional 'Breakeven.' Here, lead singer Danny O'Donoghue sings about his split with his model girlfriend Irma Mali after a four year relationship. Following The Script's pop-fueled inspirational jam 'Hall of Fame,' the band is back to what it does best: up-tempo, powerful ballads. The music is more subdued than some of their previous hits, but the song picks up in the chorus and relies heavily on the songwriting and vocal strength of O'Donoghue. The song is not as infectious as 'Breakeven' but it is catchy and something one can blast after a breakup, or perhaps on this upcoming Valentine's Day. O'Donoghue chronicles the six steps or 'degrees' of going through the pain and the single should be a relatable track to many.
The Script is nominated for 'Best International Group' at the 2013 Brit Awards. Fans can hear 'Six Degrees of Separation' right now on AOL Radio's New Pop First.
