The ballad was co-written with Troy Taylor, who has served as a mentor to Songz, and has helped write and produce much of Songz' material. The hit has a pop, Bruno Mars-like feel to it, giving the R&B star successful cross-over appeal. He sings about being smitten with a woman, who has seemingly taken him to heavenly heights of happiness. The R&B beat is simple and not as strong as some of his other hits like 'Bottoms Up,' but builds into a powerful chorus. Songz shows off his musical range here with a powerful pop voice, one that differs from other songs on the album like the club hit '2 Reasons.' Songz sings in the bridge, "See I'm a man that don't believe in much, but I'll be damned if I don't believe in us."
'Chapter V' reached #1 on the 'Billboard 200,' and featured collaborations with T.I., Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and more. Fans can enjoy 'Simply Amazing' right now on AOL Radio's New R&B First.
