Jeff Beck 'I Put a Spell on You' Feat. Joss Stone -- New Song

Jeff Beck Joss Stone I Put a Spell on You

Rock guitarist veteran Jeff Beck teams up with Joss Stone in 'I Put a Spell on You' for his forthcoming album 'Emotion & Commotion,' in stores Apr. 13. Originally written and recorded by Screamin' Jay Hawkins in 1956, the song has been covered by a slew of artists such as Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tom Waits, the Animals -- but most notably the late soul/jazz singer Nina Simone. Stone's powerful vocals stay in line with the luring, soulful melody, jazz backbeats and percussion, where as Beck's skillful blues/rock solos add to the well-renowned track. 'I Put a Spell on You' is one of two tracks (the other is 'There's No Other Me,') featuring Joss Stone off Beck's 'Emotion & Commotion,' an album that boosts other guest artists Imelda May and Olivia Safe.

This is not the first collaboration between the two; Beck is featured on Joss Stone's 'Parallel Lines,' off her 2009 October-released 'Colour Me Free!' as well as a duet with Stone on the Impressions' 1965 'People Get Ready,' as part of his 2007 series of concerts at London's Ronnie Scott's.
