'Sting in the Tail' is the Scorpions' 17th and final studio album, set to release in North America on March 23. The album -- recorded in Hannover, Germany with co-producers Mikael "Nord" Andersson and Martin Hansen -- goes back to the band's party anthem roots, in contrast to their previous 2007 politically-driven concept album 'Humanity - Hour 1.' Track highlights include new anthem single 'Raised on Rock,' the reverbed gutiar-driven title track and the duet-highlighted 'The Good Die Young,' featuring vocals by Finnish symphonic singer-songwriter Tarja Turunen.
Although we are sad to hear that 'Sting in the Tail' will be Scorpions' last album, lead vocalist Kalus Meine optomistically adds: "We want to end the Scorpions' extraordinary career on a high note. We are extremely gracious for the fact that we still have the same passion for music we've always had since the beginning." And there's no slowing down in the midst of their finale: To coincide with their final release, the band will embark on a three-year mammoth tour, debuting in May, which will take the band across five continents -- starting with Europe in the band's home country Germany, followed by North America in June (so far only the gig in Columbia, MD is confirmed).
