Palm has released a new commercial campaign that focuses on the benefits of their WebOS platform. Under the slogan "Life moves fast. Don't miss a thing," a young, on-the-go city girl whips through her apps to the beat of Mos Def's 'Quiet Dog.'
'Quiet Dog' is the second single of Off Mos Def's critically-praised 2009 album 'The Ecstatic,' an album that debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 and earned a Grammy nomination earlier this year for Best Rap Album. 'Quite Dog''s intro (not heard in the ad) is voiced by the late Nigerian musician Fela Kuti, whose African influences, as well as a bit of funk and dance, can be heard on the track.
An improvement to Palm Pre's "creepy woman" ads? We think so. Check out Mos Def's performance of 'Quiet Dog' on Letterman as well as the track's inclusion in the commercial below -- and listen to Mos Def on AOL Radio's Underground Hip-Hop station.

3. Hey PALM... "Life Moves Fast" - why use a song released last year? No disrespect to MOS but if your ad promotes the advancements of life, your message & theme should be relevant. New stuff comes out all the time, should i buy an app that came out last year too? I love Hip Hop & technology, oh and I'm an advertiser. Just my thoughts I know that you just want to "keep it real" - the ad itself other than the choice of music, was good...love the girl & the cityscape, and yes I really do love MOS..hey look "life moves fast" Peace out
