Serj Tankian's new song, 'Left of Center,' is exactly the kind of track you'd expect from the lead singer from System of a Down. Although the song opens slowly, it gradually builds with mounting tension, until it crescendos alongside Tankian's booming, trademark voice. And, as always, 'Left of Center' is definitely tinged with political overtones. Ever the socially conscious lyricist, Tankian describes what it really means to be true to one's self. As he says, "If today I die / I can not deny / The life that I live."
'Left of Center' is featured on Serj Tankian's upcoming album, 'Imperfect Harmonies,' which is scheduled to come out Sept. 7. To hear 'Left of Center,' tune into the New Alternative First station on AOL Radio.
