Top 40 Pop Songs Chart -- August 2012

For the second straight month, Katy Perry takes home the #1 spot wtih her smash hit 'Wide Awake.' Maroon 5 continues its strong performance in the charts, producing two top 5 singles, including 'One More Night,' which debuted this month at #2.

This month features new music from pop stars P!nk, Nicki Minaj and Karmin. Pitbull is back on the charts with 'Get It Started,' which features Shakira.

Indie rockers Grouplove have made the countdown for the first time with their hit 'Tongue Tied,' while Chris Rene found his way into the Top 40 for the first time with 'Trouble.' And although 'Call Me Maybe' is slipping a little, Carly Rae Jepsen made the biggest movement this month, jumping up 33 spots from her debut at #39 last month with 'Good Time' which also includes Owl City.
